1 The Lyndon B. Johnson White House. ARCHIVE OF INVITATIONS & MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS RELATING TO WHITE HOUSE EVENTS.
WASHINGTO, DC. THE WHITE HOUSE. 1965 First Edition. 
From the collection of Fred and Anna Weintraub, proprietors of the celebrated Manhattan Club "The Bitter End". Items include: Program for "A Salute To Congress" The White House. October 7, 1965. Printed stapled program (8" X 6") with the Presidetial Seal embossed on the front cover, while the background colors are red, white & blue. The performers and speakers present for the event are noted within. The Weintraub's Club group "The Bitter End Singers"are features performers. Included with the program are: a printed Presidential invitation, a dated White House parking pass, a printed reception pass, and a Response card to be forwarded with remarks to The White House Social Secretary. All are fine, but for a clean tape abrasion on the formal invitation card which does not affect the print. The Second invitation packet contains: a formal printed invitation for the Weintraubs to attend a reception at The White House on Tuesday evening, April 23, 1968 at 7:00 o'clock. Included are a printed White House parking pass, a presentation card for the event, the event card, itself, in honor of The Chiefs of Diplomatic Missions and their wives, with an arrival time noted for the Ambassadors, and the original printed transmission envelope. The final invitation is for a reception held at The White House on Wednesday evening, May 4, 1966 at 7:30 o'clock. An oversize, illustrated, paperback book(10" X 7") entitled "The White House" (5th printing) is included which is Inscribed to the Weintraubs by Secretary of Agriculture, under the John F. Kennedy & Lyndon B. Johnson administrations, Orville L. Freeman, on the title page. The book is close to near fine with light shelf soiling. The Weintraub's connection to the Johnson White House was cemented during First Lady Ladybird Johnson's much applauded rail tour promoting beautifying America. The Weintraub's Club group "The Biotter End Singers" were featured performers on the tour. A wonderful array of items. (LR)
