INSCRIBED by Dale Dye to director Oliver Stone, and dated by Dye in year of publication on the front endpaper. Fine in a fine dj. Dale Dye was the technical expert for Stone during the filming of his Best Picture Oscar winning film "Platoon." Dye also wrote the novelization of "Platoon." Dye played the part of the Colonel in "Band Of Brothers" & also was technical adviser for "The Pacific", both on HBO. This is a novel of the bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut. A significant association.
