First Photoplay Edition. Issued sometime in 1940 to promote the William Wyler film, starring Gary Cooper & Walter Brennan. One of 2 known variant photoplay dust jackets. The first being the one which adorned the world premiere edition produced by the Justin Boot Co. of Fort Worth. This, the second has completely different pictorial content, depicting Walter Brennan as the hanging judge Roy Bean talking at the bar with Gary Cooper, who is regaling his ears with stories of the famous actress Miss Lily Langtry. Also features a cartoon ala Ripley's Believe it-or not on the front dj. flap which details the actors in the film. About fine in a near fine dj. The original unprinted acetate protective wrapper is also present. ( A few tiny chips in dj. Some short nicks as well. Trifle bit of shelfsoiling to dj.) A scarce photoplay.
