A very good+ copy in a somewhat chipped, though overall good example of the dj. (Front dj. flap detached, but still present. Several edge tears. Offsetting & foxing to endpapers & pastedowns. Small initialed ownership sticker of Captain Desmond Coke at base of rear pastedown) Included alongwith the book are 2 typed & SIGNED letters from Sherriff to Captain Coke, dating from 1929-1930. The letters are fine. The play upon which the novel was based served as the basis for director James Whale's 1930 film adaptation.
