First Photoplay Edition, with mention of the John Ford film production on the front cover of dj. Esteemed Hollywood screenwriter Dudley Nichols' copy, with his bookplate on the front endpaper, and his INSCRIPTION opposite the title page. "For Martha- Not my book, but hers! Dudley Nichols." Present also is the ink stamp of writer William Eastlake at the top edge of front endpaper. About fine in a Vg.+ dj. (Some chipping at spine ends on dj. Half-inch tear at base of front cover of dj.) Dudley Nichols wrote the screenplay for the film, garnering an Academy Award nomination for his efforts. A rare signature in books.
